Hockey Australia is thrilled to have been allocated additional high performance funding as part of the $20 million Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Fund announced by the Australian Sports Commission today.

This will provide crucial support for Australia's National Women’s and Men’s hockey teams, the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras, in their preparation on the pathway to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“We are extremely appreciative of the Australian Sports Commission together with the Federal Government and their work in bringing sports together to highlight the importance of investing in high performance sport," said Hockey Australia CEO, David Pryles.

"The additional funding is crucial for our High Performance program. It will go a long way in helping us to continue to deliver an innovative, world-class environment for our Hockeyroos and Kookaburras, ensuring they have the support and opportunities required to make it to the podium at next year’s Olympic Games."

"We are extremely thankful to the Australian Government for helping to make this dream more of a reality.”

The Hockeyroos and Kookaburras are currently in preparation for the Oceania Cup against New Zealand in Whangarei from 10-13 August. The Oceania Cup doubles as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The winner of the Oceania Cup will automatically book their spot in Paris, while the losers must play off in a final qualification tournament in early 2024 for a second chance to qualify.

The Oceania Cup will be shown LIVE and free on 7plus.
