Hockey Australia launches renewed education platform

A new HockeyEd platform has been released in conjunction with etrainu and revolutioniseSPORT that will enhance and streamline the learning and user experience.
Powered by etrainu, HockeyEd is the hub that encompasses national coach, umpire, and technical accreditation training programs.
The HockeyEd accreditation programs are delivered in a combination of formats including online learning, practical sessions, self-development activities and workshop training.
A project that has been over two years in the making following a thorough discovery and implementation process, the new HockeyEd platform has been customised to reflect the upskilling and education pathways in hockey.
The new platform will feature a modern user interface and include a skills passport which stores and tracks qualifications that users have gained.
“Following the development of our new coaching and officiating framework, it is important our coaches, officials and the wider hockey community have access to a quality learning management solution. The updated HockeyEd provides just that,” said HA Chief Strategy Officer & General Counsel, Michael Johnston.
“Our state member associations have played a significant role in the development of the new HockeyEd.
“We have drawn upon the expertise of a host of the talented people working in our member associations, and also received some financial investment from Hockey Queensland.
“This is reflective of the collaborative nature in which Australian hockey organisations work and shows the benefits of a common vision and solution.”
“Our volunteers and workforce will now be able to learn in a manner that meets their needs and allows them to follow their interests. Best of all, they will have an improved user experience with a single sign on and all their learning history in their member profile.”
“Having a partner of the quality of etrainu is exciting for hockey and we know our community is going to love their learning experience.”
HA announced etrainu as the preferred Learning Management System partner back in 2021. The support of the global leaders in community education solutions has been crucial in the launch of the new and improved HockeyEd.
“We’re delighted to help launch the new HockeyEd platform,” said etrainu CEO Paul Hoon.
“Through this implementation period, we’re confident that the solution will deliver significant value to every member of the hockey community.”
The new platform has been integrated with revolutioniseSPORT, Hockey Australia’s online management platform. Users will have a single profile, with their qualifications and accreditations syncing across both platforms.
“We are delighted to announce this partnership between revolutioniseSPORT, Hockey Australia and etrainu to provide a best-in-class integrated membership and learning solution to the Hockey community,” said Alex Mednis, CEO of SportsGrid, the company that publishes the revolutioniseSPORT platform.
“The customer experience we can provide is one that will allow players, officials, and the wider hockey community to have a seamless experience in consuming hockey content and furthering their personal learning.”
The Foundation Support Coach (previously Community), Foundation Lead Coach (previously Level 1), Foundation Support Umpire (previously Community) and Foundation Lead Umpire (previously Level 1) courses will be available after receiving a facelift to improve engagement.
The Foundation Facilitator (Foundation Mentor & Educator content) course will be available within weeks. The remainder of the accredited courses across the Development, Advanced and Performance levels will be developed and available throughout 2023.
