Hockey Australia Indoor Championships to kick start 2023

Brisbane will welcome Australia’s best indoor hockey players from five age categories for the 2023 Hockey Australia Indoor Championships being held from 3-25 January.
The event, that includes U13, U15, U18, U21 and Open age competitions and will involve over 1,000 players and coaching staff, begins on Tuesday with the Open Division. It will be the first time the championships have been held since 2019 due to COVID.
Every match of the 2023 Hockey Australia Indoor Championships will be streamed on LIVEHockey.
“Our Indoor hockey community has been waiting a long time to have the national championships back and we are excited to hold this edition at the Brisbane Sports Entertainment Centre,” said Hockey Australia CEO David Pryles.
“The level of Indoor hockey is strong right across the country. This event is always highly competitive while celebrating this fantastic and action packed format of the game.”
“With the Women’s and Men’s Indoor World Cups coming up in February, this is a terrific lead in for those players who have been selected in the Australian teams.”
The event will also be used as selection for this year’s national senior, junior and emerging Indoor squads.
In addition, up to 10 field players and two goalkeepers from each gender will be selected in the National Hockey5s Squad that will compete at the Hockey5s Oceania Qualifiers in July 2023.
The 2023 Hockey Australia Indoor Championships are supported by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.
