All go for 2022 Hockey Australia Country Challenge
Published Fri 05 Aug 2022
Regional hockey players from across Australia will be out to showcase their talent when the 2022 Hockey Australia Country Challenge gets underway in Albany on Saturday 6 August.
The event makes a welcome return to the national hockey calendar after COVID forced its cancellation in 2020 and 2021.
Over 200 players from across 12 men’s and women’s teams will take part in the tournament at the headquarters of the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association.
Every match of the Country Challenge will be streamed on LIVEHockey.
Players will be treated to a first class hockey turf as well newly installed lights at the Albany venue.
All teams have arrived in Albany ahead of the eight days of competition.
Queensland won the last Women’s Country Challenge back in 2019, while New South Wales are the reigning Men’s champions.
This year’s event is made possible thanks to the City of Albany and the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association.
