Karri McMahon dealt with her fair share of on field injuries in 2015. At the start of the year, the defender took a lifted hit to her chin which resulted in a double fracture to her jaw, stiches after taking a ball to the head and a stress fracture in her foot which had her sitting out of the February 2016 TPG Singapore Series.
A snap decision in year 12, McMahon chose to study paramedics at Flinders in Adelaide. Since then, amid the circus act of juggling studies and hockey, she’s had a keen interest in the medical field.
Her inspirational mother passed down the prized hockey genes and at age six a young McMahon set eyes on hockey for the first time. However, it wasn’t until the age of 15 that she truly found her love for hockey.
Born and bred into a sporting family, talents are weaved among water polo, swimming, hockey and baseball. The perfect post-training afternoon involves a lazy day on the couch catching up on box set favourites.
