Jodie Kenny also returned to the National Senior Women’s Squad earlier this year after time away from the game to start a family, with the birth of her son Harrison. The experienced defender earned a spot in the national set-up after showing her quality during the Spain Test Series in Perth in January.

The tall 30-year-old fondly recalls scoring Australia’s last-gasp equaliser in the 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medal match which sent the final to a shoot-out which the Hockeyroos triumphed in. Kenny was the top scorer at the Glasgow Games with 10 goals, largely from her outstanding drag flicks. She’s also won silver medals at the 2014 World Cup and 2014 Champions Trophy.

Kenny says she would be a vet is she wasn’t a hockey athlete, while her childhood hero was Toowoomba Hockeyroo Angie Lambert.
