Kaitlin’s Olympic legacy stretches far and wide. An Olympian in her own right and eyeing potentially her second Olympics, the Olympic status is generational in Kaitlin’s family. Kaitlin’s mum Lee Capes was a member of the Hockeyroos team that won Olympic gold in 1988, while her dad Michael Nobbs played hockey at the 1984 Los Angeles Games before he went on to coach India’s men’s team at the London 2012 Olympics. Kaitlin’s grandma June Capes also represented Australia, before hockey was included at the Olympics for women. Kaitlin’s uncle is Kookaburras great Mark Hager. Kaitlin made her debut for the Hockeyroos right after competing at the 2016 Junior World Cup. She won the Player of the Final as NSW lifted the 2018 Australian Hockey League title. Kaitlin recently enjoyed a stint playing in the 2022-23 European season for KZ Dames in the Netherlands.
