Off the back of a good Australian Hockey League performance with the Tassie Tigers, the then 20-year-old defender made the step-up from the 2015 development squad to the Kookaburras’ Olympic training squad in the space of 12 months. Having missed out on the opportunity to debut on his home turf in Hobart in May 2015 with a hip injury, made his Kookaburras debut at the 2015 Oceania Cup, capping it off with his first international goal. Injury hampered his 2018 where he was a shadow member for the World Cup team but ultimately departed before the semi-finals after suffering a hand injury in training. Scored one of the goals of the tournament against India at the Tokyo Olympics.
