JOHAN DURSTMELBOURNEAGE: 32 ACHIEVEMENTS Commonwealth Games – Gold – 2022 |
||||
Johan starred during the 2017 AHL, winning the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award and impressing in the gold medal match shootout. The Hawthorn product was given a Visiting Athlete Agreement opportunity in early 2018 before being elevated to the full squad as one of three goalkeeping options. He joined the National Senior Men’s Squad in May 2018 after helping Victoria to back-to-back Australian Hockey League titles. Then he was a part of the Kookaburras team for the 2018 Champions Trophy, which Australia won, making his debut in the lead-up test match against Germany. Johan played four matches in the Kookaburras’ gold medal winning 2022 Commonwealth Games campaign. WHAT HIS TEAMMATES SAY… “Johan’s a good shot blocker and great at organising the defence in front of him. Being a fellow Victorian, it was great having him there at the time and test myself against him. He’s a really intelligent person but also loves to have a joke so he’s great to be around.” Nathan Ephraums |
