Andrew played basketball, soccer and baseball as a kid before ‘accidentally’ finding hockey. His sister Deanne, who was coaching an Under 13 boys team at the time, roped him in. After a year as an outfield player, Andrew chose to become a goalkeeper before making his debut for the Kookaburras in 2011. His career highlight to date is winning the 2014 World Cup where the Kookaburras only conceded three goals for the tournament. Andrew is currently the most capped Australian goalkeeper ever and appears to be on his way to his third Olympics. Outside of hockey, Andrew graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, majoring in oil and gas. He’s an asset Integrity Subject Matter Expert for BHP. Andrew was named the Men’s Most Valuable Player for the 2022 Hockey One League Season.
