By 2021, she became the fourth youngest Hockeyroo to compete at an Olympic Games. Amy’s parents were born and raised in Zimbabwe. Both played squash for Zimbabwe and both played hockey at school where Amy’s father was captain of the Zimbabwe school boy team. They moved to the UK where Amy and her younger sister Josie were both born. The family then relocated to Melbourne when Amy was 5 years of age. Not long after she started playing hockey at Casey Cannons when she was 8 years old. Also did Little Athletics and was a talented soccer player. Her pathway to the national team came when she was identified at the 2018 Australian U21 Championships which saw her secure a scholarship with the Victorian Institute of Sport.
