The launch of a ground-breaking new free global hockey app will make the game more accessible, appealing and available on demand and is a must have for anyone involved and interested in the sport.

Announced by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) in partnership with NAGRA, the digital “home for hockey” delivers a new level of engagement for fans with easy access to the best hockey content, all in one place and on any device, by providing access to live matches on web, mobile and smart TVs.

Other features of the app include live scores, results, statistics, personalized content in a “For You” section, and trending content, as well as access to replays, highlights, archived content, and news.

Hockey Australia GM – Commercial, Communications & Events Tim Cherry believes the app opens hockey to new horizons and possibilities, particularly as it allows hockey followers in Australia to have a hockey hub accessible at their fingertips.

“The Watch.Hockey app is a game changer for our sport, both in Australia and around the world,” said Cherry.

“For hockey to finally have a global central point for everything in the one place is going to take it to a never before seen level in engagement and access.

“We congratulate the FIH and NAGRA for the successful development and launch of the app which is sure to be popular among the hockey community and fans of the sport.”

“With the ability to select a region and personalise the content you see on the app, we encourage everyone to download it as a fantastic way to stay across everything the Kookaburras, Hockeyroos and Hockey Australia is doing.”

The FIH are excited by the finished product and potential of what further innovations and elements the app could contain as it continues to develop.

“Our fans and community are at the centre of everything that we do, and now we can bring the sport that unites all of us to them in an innovative way to enable a new level of engagement,” said FIH CEO Thierry Weil.

“Launching Watch.Hockey in the current context makes it particularly meaningful. I encourage the global hockey community to download the app now and start enjoying its rich, diverse and exciting content.”

NAGRA is the world's leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen video solutions.
