Hockey Australia is saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Tony Galvin. Tony was the voluntary Kookaburras and Hockeyroos doctor at four consecutive Olympics from 1984 to 1996.
Always giving of his time and expertise, Tony was also often called upon to treat athletes or officials from other sports.
He was also the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos team doctor at several World Cups, his involvement with Australia’s national hockey teams spanning two decades. Not only an outstanding doctor, Tony was a wonderful person and excellent communicator with both players and officials.
