Hockey Australia is mourning the passing of Ethics and Governance Committee Chair Andrew Plympton AM, who passed away at the age of 74 following a battle with cancer.
A key figure in Australian sport, Andrew was not only integral to the Ethics and Governance Committee here at Hockey Australia but he held numerous roles throughout his life, achieving an incredible career in business and in sport, his many accolades include; President of St Kilda Football Club, President of Australian Sailing, Executive of the Australian Olympic Committee and a key member of the Sports Commission Board.
Andrew also achieved great success as a sportsman himself, winning a World Etchells Class Sailing Championship and National Championships.
Hockey Australia extends our deepest condolences to his wife Kim and two daughters, Katrina and Amanda as well as Andrew’s wider family and their many friends.
