Published Wed 24 Aug 2022
Hockey Australia (HA) advises the process to determine the future ‘High Performance Centre of Excellence’ in Australia is progressing in accordance with the foreshadowed timetable, with an intention of making a decision and public announcement by the end of this year.
After officially launching Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the home of the High Performance Centre of Excellence in March, bid applications closed on 24 June.
HA received submissions from the following five Member Associations – Hockey ACT, Hockey NSW, Hockey Queensland, Hockey Victoria, and Hockey WA.
At present, bids are in the process of being presented to an Assessment Panel which includes two HA Board Directors, two independent members and the HA High Performance Director.
HA is delighted to have received such a high level of interest for this crucial next phase of hockey in Australia.
Once all presentations have been made, feedback will be provided to each candidate in September before final offers are received by the Assessment Panel.
The final offers will be reviewed by the Assessment Panel before recommendations are presented to the HA High Performance Committee ahead of a final decision by the HA Board.
The successful candidate is expected to be announced by the end of 2022.
Hockey Australia’s High Performance Unit is currently located in Perth under an agreement with the Western Australian Government and Hockey WA that expires in December 2024.
