Hockey Australia has updated its National Integrity Framework, including changes to its Member Protection Policy (MMP) and how child safeguarding is handled.

Sports Integrity and Governance Partners CEO, Iain Roy will explain key changes to the MPP, and how complaints can be made and handled.

Sam Dellamarta, an experienced safeguarding specialist with a career history of direct service delivery and leadership roles spanning the community services sector, will then provide an overview of Safe Hockey (Hockey Australia’s child safeguarding initiative) and what it means for clubs and individuals.

Michael Johnston, General Manager - Growth, Legal & Strategy, will also give a brief update on the National Redress Scheme.

“This will be the first in a series of educational sessions facilitated by Hockey Australia,” said Blair Chalmers, Hockey Australia Senior Manager - Participation & Engagement.

“It is significant that this topic is the first one to be delivered as both areas are critical to ensuring a safe and engaging environment.”

“Iain and Sam are experts on these topics. The session will begin with introductory presentations but are designed to be predominantly an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

“Participants should bring any questions or queries they have to the session where they can receive advice on actions that they can consider implementing within their own club or association.”
