Hockeyroos home Pro League series to be held at Sydney Olympic Park

Published Thu 10 Nov 2022

The Hockeyroos’ first matches of the new FIH Pro League season against Germany and China from 10-15 February 2023 will be played at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre.

The event comprising six matches between the three nations was originally scheduled for Newcastle, however upon inspection the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has formally advised the pitch is non-compliant to host the matches.

All FIH Pro League venues are required to comply with the FIH Category 1 or 2 classification.

The switch in venue will see the Hockeyroos back at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre for the first time since February 2020 when they played FIH Pro League matches against Belgium and Great Britain.

The new FIH Pro League schedule is based on a series of ‘mini-tournaments’ where several teams gather in one venue to play two matches against each other.

Ticketing details for the matches in Sydney will be released soon.

The FIH Pro League is broadcast in Australia on FOX Sports, available on Foxtel and Kayo.
