  • Interested athletes who will attend the Masters Invitational Event
  • Australian athletes who are overseas and interested in nominating

The following information is provided in preparation for selection of Masters World Cup Teams 2022 on the understanding that the planned Invitational events will go ahead.

All invitational events are subject to continued monitoring due to the Covid situation in Australia. If the events become unviable for any reason, other selection opportunities may be provided.

In these unpredictable times, it is difficult to plan events with any certainty. For this reason HAMC is providing as much information about risks that we are aware of relating to selection and participation of national teams at World Cups 2022 to allow players and officials to make informed decisions about their involvement – please review HAMC important information for all potential World Cup 2022 participants.

Please familiarise yourself with the following information prior to nominating to play in the Australian team contingents that will be selected for World Cups 2022. Should you decide to nominate, by virtue of your nomination you are accepting the full risks associated with participation as outlined in this document – both personal and financial.

The Australian Contingent commitment dates once set will be non negotiable.

Participation is at player’s full expense which includes accommodation, entry fee, training, team transport during the event, official dinners and team levy. The budget for this event has not yet been created, however the committee will take all steps to keep costs to a minimum. As an indication the budget for WC2020 was estimated at $3,500 for Nottingham and Cape Town and $4,500 for Tokyo.

Selections
There is no guarantee that any Australian Teams will participate in World Cup 2022 events, or that World Cup events will go ahead. Australian Masters teams will only be selected if there are sufficient players of standard in that age group. If there are insufficient nominations of standard or selectors are unable to select sufficient players of standard, refunds will be processed to players in that age group.
