Kookaburras look to bounce back in Trans-Tasman showdown

The age-old rivalry returns for another instalment when the Kookaburras take on the Black Sticks in their fourth pool match of the Olympic hockey tournament.

For the Kookaburras, a win against New Zealand will avenge the pain of their loss against defending Olympic champion Belgium. They are 2-1 for the tournament after claiming the scalps of Argentina and Ireland earlier in the week.

But the Tokyo silver medallist will never underestimate their Kiwi competitors.

“New Zealand have got a pretty good side and we've seen them play in a few tournaments this year without their best team and they've still done well,” coach Colin Batch said.
