This year’s Hockey One League has received a major boost from an icon of Australian and world hockey, with Jamie Dwyer Hockey (JDH) signing on as the league’s official naming rights partner and partner of Hockey Australia’s participation program, Hookin2Hockey.
JDH is the exclusive hockey brand designed in Australia by former Kookaburra and five-time World Player of the Year, Jamie Dwyer OAM.
Dwyer played 365 matches for Australia and scored 243 goals, the most famous of which helped secure gold for the Kookaburras at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Round One of the 2023 JDH Hockey One League starts on Friday 6th October and for the first time every match will be LIVE and free on 7plus.
Match tickets and memberships for all seven franchises are on sale now through Intix.
“To have JDH connected with the Hockey One League as the naming rights partner is a dream association,” said JDH Hockey One League Executive Manager Sash Herceg.
“JDH is a recognisable brand around the world and we thank Jamie for seeing the potential and value of this association with the Hockey One League.
“The support is even more welcome with the League being a significant selection tool for next year’s Hockeyroos and Kookaburras squads heading to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”
“We’re proud to have someone who is deeply passionate about hockey in Australia aligned with the League. JDH will also help our whole of sport strategic plan in building a stronger pathway from Hookin2Hockey to Hockey One and through to the high-performance programs.”
Part of JDH’s mission is to ensure players of all ages have the best equipment to increase their confidence on the field. The company are continually striving for excellence and dedicated to improving the sticks and equipment for all players.
“JDH is excited to be the naming rights sponsor for Australia’s best hockey league,” said Dwyer.
“I love everything about the Hockey One League. Not only does it showcase the best players in Australia but it’s also starting to attract quality international talent.
“It’s a really unique league in that you get to see men’s and women’s matches on the same night with the one ticket.
“We’re also pleased to support Hookin2Hockey, Hockey Australia’s participation program for kids. As a former player myself, it’s important to create that connection and opportunity from the grassroots levels up.”
