Hockey Australia Supports FFA Decision

Fri 08 Nov 2019

Hockey Australia congratulates Football Federation Australia on its decision and move to provide equal share of commercial revenue between its female and male national team players.

FFA’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement intends to reflect football’s determination to address issues of gender equity in all facets of the game, something hockey is proud to have long been a leader in when it comes to Australian team sports.

The FFA announcement very much aligns to Hockey Australia’s current approach whereby men and women players have long had equal billing in terms of remuneration and conditions.

This also extends to equal attention, exposure and ticketing for Hockeyroos and Kookaburras internationals.

Renowned for its gender equality and inclusiveness as a sport, Hockey Australia looks forward to continuing to lead by example in this space.
