Hockey Australia Foundation to be promoted on Hockeyroos uniform

Awareness of the newly relaunched Hockey Australia (HA) Foundation will receive a significant boost with the logo to be emblazoned on the Hockeyroos on and off field apparel.
Established in conjunction with the Australian Sports Foundation, the premise of the HA Foundation is to raise funds for the development of hockey in Australia, primarily the national junior participation program Hookin2Hockey.
The opportunity to drive awareness of the HA Foundation on the Hockeyroos’ uniform arose due to the current vacancy of a Hockeyroos ‘front of shirt’ sponsor following the departure of Ausdrill.
“The Hockey Australia Foundation is a crucial initiative to help reach more kids than ever before by introducing them to the sport of hockey and everything that is great about the sport at the introductory Hookin2Hockey level,” said HA Acting CEO Michael Johnston.
“As we continue to work towards securing a new major partner for the Hockeyroos, the HA Foundation is a fitting cause to promote on the apparel of our flagship national women’s team.”
“Sport is ingrained in Australian culture and the HA Foundation project is about enabling children to engage in physical activity in a safe, fun environment regardless of location, financial situation, gender and ethnicity.”
“Having the Hockey Foundation logo on the Hockeyroos apparel provides another avenue to promote the benefits of Hookin2Hockey and trigger people’s interest in how they can support the growth and development of hockey and happy, healthy kids.”
Financial support for the HA Foundation increases the resources that can be dedicated to rolling out Hookin2Hockey programs, in turn allowing more kids to pick up a hockey stick.
About Hookin2Hockey

It provides children with the opportunity to learn the basic necessary hockey skills, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends while beginning their love of hockey. The opportunity to engage in physical activity in a safe environment should be available to all Australian children regardless of location, financial situation, gender or ethnicity. Hookin2Hockey creates healthier, happier, more resilient and connected communities.
