Hockey Australia calling for national Indoor nominations

Following consultation with the Hockey Australia (HA) Indoor Advisory Group and national Indoor coaches, nominations are being called for the Australian Open, U21 and U18 squads.
Nominate for Australia’s Indoor National Squads.
Due to COVID forcing the cancellation of the National Festival of Indoor Hockey scheduled for January 2022, Chair of the HA Indoor Advisory Group, Lyn Hill says it is vital for Indoor players to have the opportunity to nominate for Australian Squads.
“Once it was identified that several states were taking the opportunity to hold either their Indoor State Championships or an Indoor Event in December, January or February, our Australian Indoor Coaching Team were keen to have the opportunity to attend these events, where able, with a view to the selection of the squads,” said Hill.
“Importantly, regardless of whether players are attending a state event, training camp or not, they are still invited to complete a nomination.”
“It is acknowledged some players had either chosen not to participate at their state event, prior to the advice that the Australian Squad selections would take place, or their states are not holding an event for player participation.
“It is hoped our squads will be able to compete against countries within our travel bubble, initially New Zealand and Singapore, as opportunities arise and it is important our elite Indoor players have this as a focus.”
To be considered for the Australian Indoor Hockey Open, U21 and U18 squads, complete the nomination form. Nominations close on 13 February 2022.
