Hockey Australia Board update following 2022 Council Meeting
Published Mon 21 Nov 2022
Hockey Australia has welcomed two new Board Directors following this year’s Annual Council Meeting.
Max Diamond and Craig Roberts were elected on to the HA Board for a three year term. Vice President Pat Hall was also re-elected following the expiration of his three year term.
Diamond is a former Kookaburra and most recently sat on the Board of Hockey Queensland. His strong background in high performance, coupled with his commercial experience in the digital sector, currently with ASX- listed MOQ Digital and previously with Telstra, will be of high value.
Heralding from Victoria, Roberts is a digital strategist, having been Head of Strategy, Insights, Data & Analytics at leading sport and entertainment consultancy Gemba. This followed his time at the AFL as Head of Strategy-AFL Media. Roberts has also been part of Hockey Australia’s Digital Pillar Working Group, helping to shape the new Australian Hockey Strategic Plan.
The Council Meeting, comprising the HA Board plus State and Territory Member Association Presidents and Chief Executives, saw Brent Dancer and Bryan Zekulich depart the HA Board following a period of outstanding service.
Dancer chaired the High Performance Committee, was a member of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee and served on the Implementation Working Group tasked with overseeing the HA Board’s response to the 2020 Cultural Review into the Women’s National High Performance Program.
Zekulich was chair of the Finance Audit & Risk Committee and had also served on the People & Culture Committee. With his strong financial acumen, Zekulich was a critical member of the Board through the uncertainty of COVID.
Hockey Australia thanks Bryan and Brent for their service and looks forward to appropriately acknowledging their contribution in the future.
The Hockey Australia Board comprises Ross Sudano (President), Pat Hall (Vice President), Sandra Sully (Vice President), Brent Clark, Max Diamond, Mary Konstantopoulos, Colin Murphy, Sally Carbon, Craig Roberts and Joanne Scanlon.
