FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup South Africa 2023 schedule announced

The anticipation of Australia’s Men’s and Women’s Indoor hockey World Cup campaigns has gone up another gear after the International Hockey Federation (FIH) revealed the match schedule.
Australia’s Men’s Team will take centre stage as they open the Men’s World Cup against host nation South Africa.
The FIH Women’s Indoor World Cup will begin with Pool A action as South Africa face off against Austria.
Australia’s Women’s team’s first up opponents are the USA, who have qualified for their second straight appearance at the Indoor World Cup.

This will be the 6th edition of the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup with Australia having competed in every tournament in both the Men’s and the Women’s.
12 men’s and 12 women’s teams will travel to Pretoria, South Africa for the prestigious tournament that will take place from the 5-11 February 2023.
Each team will play a pool match on five consecutive days, with the top four teams progressing to the quarter finals.
Australia’s Men’s Team is in Pool B with Iran, Czech Republic, South Africa, the United States and Argentina.
The Women’s Team will come up against the Netherlands, Austria, the United States, South Africa and New Zealand in Pool A.
The Australian Indoor squads currently consist of 22 athletes each, with both squads to be narrowed down to a final 12 by the end of the year.
