Hockey Australia is excited to advise four of Australia’s budding hockey officials have been accepted to the International Panel by the FIH Officials Committee.
Martin Courtney and Jared Correia have been upgraded to Technical Officials on the International Panel, while Tamara Leonard and Timothy Sheahan (pictured above, left) have joined the international panel of outdoor Umpires.
The announcement comes after FIH Officials Committee accepted applications from HA and the Oceania Hockey Federation.
“Congratulations to Martin, Jared, Tamara and Tim on their promotion to the international officiating panel,” said HA CEO David Pryles.
“The upgrading of these individuals confirms that Hockey Australia and the Oceania Hockey Federation are producing quality officials.
“As we have been, we must continue to provide opportunities at sanctioned events for aspiring officials to ply their trade so reports can be produced to support further promotions.”
“Australia proudly boasts a host of internationally regarded and respected officials, highlighted by representation at this year’s FIH Men’s World Cup in India and Indoor Hockey Men’s and Women’s World Cup in South Africa.”
The elevation of these officials follows the appointment of 12 umpires to the inaugural Oceania Officials Development Program (OODP) back in February.
