2024 National Future Talent Squads named following impressive HA U18 Championships

Following impressive performances at the Hockey Australian Under 18 Championships and on the eve of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, 32 male and female athletes from right across Australia have been recognised as the next generation of the sport with selection in the 2024 Men's & Women's National Futures Squads.
The squads - both featuring burgeoning talent from each State & Territory - were announced by former Kookaburras greats Mark Hager and Mark Knowles, who are Hockey Australia’s National Athlete Pathway Programs Technical Leads for Women and Men respectively. The squads represent a group of pathway athletes that are likely to be at their best when the Olympic Games arrive in Brisbane in 2032.
Penalty Corner efficiency was clearly high on the wishlist of the men's squad selectors, with Harley Woodall (12), Matthew Hawthorne (10), Bryce Hammond (10), and Harrison Regan (10), all selected after reaching double figures in PC goals during the Under 18 Competition.
Meanwhile, the performance of the gold medal winning Queensland Maroon Women's side did not go unnoticed, with 8 athletes selected from their 18-strong side. Team Captain Meka Crick grabbed selection after scoring the match winner in the 58th minute of the grand final.
